| Rinkai is a popular location for the filming of
dramas and movies such as "Odoru Daisosasen" (Bayside Shakedown),
which attests to the many viewing spots in the area. You might even
get lucky and see some filming in action! |
Rainbow Bridge
The symbol of Tokyo Bay
Rainbow Bridge connects
Shibaura to Odaiba. Opened in 1993, the bridge is 918
meters across and 52.4 meters above the surface of the
bay. The bridge is double-decked, with the Shuto Expressway
running above and a local road and the Yurikamome Train
running below. The bridge is also open to pedestrians.
The view from afar of the bridge lit up at night is
quite wonderful, but you should also consider crossing
the bridge on foot and leisurely taking in the view.

The Statue of Liberty
Replica
The symbol of Odaiba
As part of the France
Year Celebrations in Japan, the City of Paris loaned
its small-scale copy of the Statue of Liberty to Japan
for one year beginning in April 1998. The original has
since been returned, but a replica was built in its
place in response to public appeals. The replica is
now a Odaiba landmark, and taking a picture of Lady
Liberty with Rainbow Bridge as a backdrop is de rigeur
for visitors.
